On this episode of Cinedicate, we unearth an ancient secret in the Antarctic tundra. Doug Levinson, a screenplay writer, joins this week to talk about a recent horror screenplay he penned and John Carpenter’s 1982 sci-fi horror, The Thing.
John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape From New York) modernizing the sci-fi creature feature from 1951 The Thing From Another World, The Thing is a story of a remote research group that uncovers the find of the century – alien life. After contact, the alien parasite infects the crew one by one. Captain MacReady (Kurt Russell, The Hateful Eight and Marvel's The Guardians of the Galaxy) is left to protect the research group from an invisible enemy.
